Development consisting of the extension and refurbishment of existing school including the demolition of part existing single storey buildings (part to front but primarily to rear of school), and the construction of a two storey wing in its place, and the construction to the rear, of a new two storey wing incorporating 12 new learning spaces with associated support spaces, circulation etc, a new sports hall with changing rooms and associated support spaces serving the new hall and rear playing facilities. The new sports hall is a two storey like volume and includes part two storey accommodation /viewing gallery etc. The development also includes for full disability access provisions, enhanced energy performance and the upgrading of the existing retained main school buildings , along with various associated site works including 3 new hard courts, 18 additional car parking, ESB substation and emergency vehicular access to the pitches all as described in drawings. The works will include the provision of varying numbers of temporary class rooms and school support spaces through different phases of the construction to facilitate keeping the existing school fully operational through the construction period.
